Akintunde Ahmad is a multifaceted creative from Oakland, California, whose work spans journalism, filmmaking, and fashion design. After graduating from Yale University in 2018 with a degree in sociology, he earned a Master's in Journalism and Documentary Film from Columbia University in 2019. During his time at Yale, Akintunde founded the Black Men of Yale University and served on the boards of the Black Men's Union and the Black Solidarity Conference. He also studied law at the University of Ghana and interned with Nike's legal department in New York City.


In 2019, Akintunde expanded into fashion modeling, featuring in Abercrombie & Fitch's relaunch of their iconic cologne, Fierce, and participating in the launch of the Colin Kaepernick Icon Jersey in partnership with Nike, with his images displayed on billboards in Times Square and Los Angeles. As a journalist, Akintunde has contributed to publications such as The Atlantic, Columbia Journalism Review, and The Guardian, focusing on topics like education, economic inequality, and the justice system. He co-hosts the podcast series "Viewers Like Us" and serves as an associate producer for Proximity Media's nonfiction department.


In 2020, Akintunde founded Ade Dehye, a fashion brand that ethically and sustainably produces clothing in Ghana, blending African textiles with urban streetwear designs. His work with Ade Dehye has been featured in KQED Arts & Culture and The Oaklandside, highlighting his commitment to challenging fashion industry norms and investing in his community and West Africa.
